Sustainability in the supply chain
- Our supply chain for devices is shifting to 100% carbon-free electricity for Microsoft-related production.
- At least 89 key suppliers have already made the transition to carbon-free electricity, with more in progress.
- To contribute to Microsoft’s goal of 100% carbon-free electricity by 2030, 40% of our key device suppliers have already transitioned to CFE.
- We have transitioned 89 key device suppliers, expanding CFE use to 392K MWh and avoiding 232K metric tons C02 equivalent in emissions.
Electric Vehicle delivery
In FY24, we expanded truckload electric vehicle capabilities to cover both of our United States distribution centers, enabling full truckloads within a 100-mile range of the distribution centers to be delivered via EV.
More recycled materials
- Surface USB4 Dock contains a minimum of 55.2% recycled content.5
- Surface USB4 Dock contains more recycled materials than any previous Surface dock, including 100% recycled tin, 100% recycled gold, and 50% recycled plastic.6
Thoughtful packaging
- Contains 52% recycled content in our wood-based fiber consumer packaging.7
